A New Beginning for Little Eza from Ethiopia

1-year-old Alemayehu Eza Tekel from Ethiopia was diagnosed with a serious heart condition at the age of 6 months. Her mother first noticed something was wrong when she had trouble feeding her at the age of 4 months. She is also a child with Down Syndrome. Recently, her condition worsened - she struggled to breathe during simple activities and felt her heart racing abnormally.

With support from India Humanity Foundation, Eza and her mother Tsegaw Zinash Feten travelled to India in August 2025. On 21st August 2025 at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences in Cochin, she underwent a successful heart surgery that gave her a second chance at life.

Today, Eza is recovering well and her mother is deeply grateful for the care, travel, and support provided through this journey.

They would be travelling back to Ethiopia soon.
