Chittam Somesh Kumar, a 12-year-old from Pathakota
village,
District Alluri Sitharama Raju, Andhra Pradesh faced significant challenges in pursuing his
education. As the eldest son in a family of five, with parents working as mason laborers, he
often stayed home to care for his younger siblings and assist his father. His dreams of
learning seemed out of reach.
During a survey, Asha Kiran volunteers discovered Somesh’s plight. Moved by his
determination, they enrolled him in the Pathakota Asha Kiran Center, where he started in
Class 2 to bridge his learning gap. In just three months, Somesh’s commitment transformed
him into a role model. With perfect attendance and a leadership spirit, he now encourages
other children to attend the center.
Somesh’s story highlights the transformative power of education and the resilience of a
child determined to succeed.
